Mobile communications in Laos are closely linked to the lives of the people, and improving the quality of service is an urgent issue.
In December 2022, the "Research and development of systems to improve mobile communication quality” to be undertaken in cooperation with the Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) of LAO was adopted by the APT. KDDI Foundation helped to resolve the issues through conducting research tour in Japan and developing a mapping system to identify base stations.
At the completion workshop, the research was highly evaluated by the Vice Minister of the MTC for its contribution to the improvement of communication quality. Continuously, this project has been continuing in FY2024 as a pilot project.
