The maternal mortality rate in the Federated States of Micronesia is more than 20 times higher than in Japan, highlighting the urgent need for improvements in perinatal care. KDDI Foundation have been participating in APT pilot project for perinatal telemedicine, led by NPO, BHN Association.
In 2023, we donated remote fetal monitoring equipment and worked to enhance telecommunications at rural dispensaries. These initiatives aim to improve the quality of perinatal medical care in the country.
