The Foundation applied for the 2002 APT's official project in collaboration with Waseda University, and installed long-distance wireless LAN systems (1-to-1: KDDI Lab. CFO device) in rural areas of Kuching and Bario in East Malaysia, and verified the feasibility of the communication method.
With this verification, it has been demonstrated that in rural areas of developing countries, the building of wireless LAN is effective for providing inexpensive broadband lines.
